Parents Association Duke of Kent School
Our aim is to deliver vibrant and enjoyable social events that raise smiles for the whole school community.
To that end, PADoK is a group of parents who meet twice a term to organise social events through the school year.
Our busy calendar includes opportunities for parents to get to know each other within their class groups. These social events are organised by the class "reps" and they range from coffee mornings to curry nights out and camping weekends. We also organise whole school events such as quiz nights, wine tasting evenings and charity balls. We have a mums’ netball team that regularly competes with mums’ teams from other local schools.
Although never a priority, money is inevitably raised through successful events. Each year this money is put towards additional projects that benefit the children. In recent years we have made contributions towards a new sound system, equipment for the gym, camping supplies for Duke of Edinburgh students and flower bulbs for a new bluebell wood.
We also provide a valuable service through our second-hand uniform shop; we offer good quality second-hand clothes at a very reasonable prices. The second-hand shop has moved to new premises called the “PADoK H.Q”, which is located next to the Sports Hall and is opened once a week.
Parents, pupils and staff put their heart and soul into making Duke of Kent School a success - PADoK provide a fun and fulfilling way to be an active part of that.
I very much look forward to meeting you at a PADoK function in the near future.
