Throughout their time in Senior School, we prepare our pupils for their eventual transition to Sixth Form and support them as they develop the habits and skills they will need to succeed in adult life.
We provide all the information and advice required to guide students and their parents carefully as they decide on the next school. In year 10 the students will attend an informal Future Schools evening which outlines the requirements and scheduling of their sixth form applications. Further to this, conversations with, and advice from, the school allows sensible and happy choices to be made. The school will supply references and GCSE predictions, as well as providing interview practice and scholarship support. The students are fully part of this process.
There is a huge amount of choice for students when choosing a Sixth Form, whether they wish to remain in the independent sector, either as a day pupil or boarder, or whether they wish to join a state sixth form, college or school. Since our expansion to GCSE in 2009, students from Duke of Kent School have gone on to study for A Levels at a wide variety of schools and colleges including:
- ACS Cobham
- Christ's Hospital
- City of London Freemans
- Cranleigh School
- Frensham Heights
- George Abbot, Guildford
- Godalming College
- Howard of Effingham School
- Hurstpierpoint College
- Hurtwood House School
- Reigate Grammar School
- Richard Collyer's College
- St George's College, Weybridge
- St John's School, Leatherhead
- St Peter’s, Guildford
- Winchester College
Beyond Sixth Form, the majority of our students go to Russell Group Universities.
This is to replace the Moving On section in our Senior School area on the website - so it will appear in both sections (Senior School and Parents section) but renamed as Future Schools
