At Duke of Kent School, our Pre-prep curriculum nurtures confident, curious and independent learners, combining strong academic foundations with creativity, exploration and individual support.

In Nursery and Reception, children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum through purposeful, play-based learning. Early literacy and numeracy are enriched by specialist Music and Dance teaching and regular Forest School sessions.

In Years 1 and 2, daily English and Mathematics lessons build confidence, fluency and problem-solving skills, alongside a broad curriculum including Science, Humanities, Art, French, PE, PSHE and Computing.

Learning is engaging and practical, encouraging children to ask questions, explore ideas, collaborate and think independently.

Small class sizes mean every child is known and supported as an individual. Teachers carefully adapt learning to provide the right balance of challenge and encouragement, while ongoing assessment ensures progress is closely monitored.

By the end of Pre-prep, children are confident, enthusiastic learners, well-prepared for the next stage of their journey into Prep School.
