Extended Day

Duke of Kent School is a busy and thriving community. We run an extended day which maximises the use of our excellent grounds and facilities and also lets parents enjoy greater flexibility in the times they deliver and collect their children.

The school day begins with registration at 8.20am but, for those wishing to arrive earlier, Breakfast is served from 7.30am (Year 1 upwards) All food and refreshments are included in the termly fees. The teaching day for Prep and Senior pupils finishes at 4.45pm at which point students may be collected or may choose to stay on to do independent study and complete their homework assignments or take part in our Activities Programme, a wide and diverse range of exciting extra-curricular activities. Supper is provided for all pupils who wish to stay at no extra charge. Later departure times are available for senior pupils until the school closes at 7.30pm.

The Extended Day represents fantastic value: it is possible for pupils to opt to stay on any day of the week until 7.30pm without additional charge. There are occasionally charges made for sessions run by external teachers but a free alternative is always available.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons there is a busy programme of sports matches, home and away, to which parents are warmly invited to add their support. Pupils are free to leave after their matches end or may stay for supper and supervision.
