Drama in the School is of a high standard. The school puts on ambitious and highly creative productions involving large numbers of children and staff. Drama is incorporated across the wider curriculam to give pupils as wide a range of dramatic experiences as possible.
This gives every child the confidence to work in a team and present ideas orally - key skills for modern life. Morning assemblies, as well as the formal productions, give everyone the opportunity to get on stage, and learn back stage skills.
Senior productions take place in November every year. Our most recent play was 'Return to the Forbidden Planet' which involved the majority of years 7 and 8. Previous productions have included 'Aladdin', 'Tom Sawyer', 'Big Al' and 'Bugsy Malone'.
The Junior School is this year preparing to perform 'Oliver' in Summer 2008. Junior School performed 'Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat' in Summer 2007 to great critical aclaim.
In Pre-Prep, the Christmas play is one of the highlights of the year. usually a quirky tale on the traditional nativity story. This year's play was 'Cock a Doodle Christmas', which involved all pupils in Pre-Prep. This year our Nursery performed their own Nativity in the Old Hall of the main school building. 'The First Christmas' was beautifully perfomed to parents, grandparents, friends and staff. A proud moment for all concerned.
